Clifton at a glance
Nothing epitomises luxury and affluence quite like a Clifton property.
Here you will find some of the priciest and most beautiful properties in South Africa with many nestled on the cliff face or literally on the beach where you can almost stretch out and feel the sand.
Clifton properties are exquisite and you would likely see them showcased in magazines and lifestyle tv shows owing to their architectural design and that many are coveted by celebrities and wealthy individuals from the world over.
Although a relatively small area, here you will find everything from beach bungalows where the waves crash on your doorstep to opulent mansions overlooking the ocean.
Clifton offers a more tranquil, beach lifestyle in comparison to many of the other denser populated areas along the Atlantic Seaboard such as Camps Bay.
There is no doubt, Clifton is a firm favourite with tourists that deck themselves out on the beach in summer and work on that African bronze tan while the yachts bob on the sea in front of them.
Shopping:
Nearby Camps Bay has many stores along the strip. The other option is a short trip into Sea Point or the V&A Waterfront.
Schools:
Camps Bay Primary School and High School are close by as well as Reddam House in Green Point.
Up and over the mountain towards the southern suburbs is the University of Cape Town around 15 minutes away.
Healthcare:
The Sea Point Medical Centre, Cape Town Mediclinic and New Somerset Hospital offer a range of specialised treatments. Christian Barnard Hospital is also easily accessible in the CBD and the community is also serviced by the Camps Bay Medics (a group of local volunteer paramedics).
There are many specialist and general practices in Sea Point Main Road including General Practitioners, Chiropractors, Paediatricians etc.
Beaches:
With 4 of the most idyllic, beautiful and sheltered white sandy beaches, you are certainly spoilt for choice. 4th beach is popular with families and offers a bigger open space. 3rd beach is also very popular amongst the gay community. 1-3 are smaller and frequented more by residents with its better sheltered and cosy atmosphere.
Activities:
Beach walks for sunset or sunrise as well as hikes up Table Mountain/lions head are some of the most popular outdoor activities along with a jog along the cliff face towards Sea Point promenade or Camps Bay strip with stunning views throughout.
Restaurants:
One recommendation, The Bungalow restaurant. You cannot beat the views and the quality food!
Quick access into town over the mountain past lions head or the scenic route through Sea Point.
Airport is 40 min away from Clifton (traffic dependent)
