Fresnaye is one of Cape Towns most exclusive neighbourhoods, well known for being a little piece of ‘wind free’ heaven with upmarket and very stylish properties on the slope of the mountain.
The respite from the South Easter together with sweeping ocean and sunset vistas as well as the mountain backdrop makes Fresnaye one of the most desirable areas along the Atlantic Seaboard.
Fresnaye has an interesting link with France in that most of the tree lined avenues have French names.
For the hikers, there are trails all along the surrounding areas and its proximity to Clifton, Camps Bay and beautiful beaches only add to its allure.
Properties in the area always show good capital growth and rental homes are in high demand due to location, upmarket residential living and close proximity to amenities.
Shopping:
The newly opened Sea Point Galleria shopping centre is located in Sea Points Main Road with a wide assortment of niche stores and restaurants.
The V&A Waterfront is just 15 minutes away, offering everything from boutiques and supermarkets to speciality stores.
Schools:
Camps Bay Primary School and High School are 5 minutes down the road and are the closest schools in the area. Reddam House, a popular private school is also situated 5 min away in Green Point.
Healthcare:
The Sea Point Medical Centre, Cape Town Mediclinic and New Somerset Hospital offer a range of specialised treatments.
There are many specialist and general practices in Sea Point Main Road including General Practitioners, Chiropractors, Paediatricians etc.
Beaches:
Nearby blue flag beaches include the big stretch of beach in Camps Bay and the smaller, separated and sheltered beaches of Clifton. Even closer and within walking distance, are the small beaches alongside the promenade that runs all along the sea point beachfront.
Activities:
Take a walk/jog down Victoria Road towards the beaches and views of Clifton or go down to the promenade and enjoy the outdoors with likeminded people all exercising.
Alternatively take a hike up the mountain and immerse yourself in the spectacular views.
Restaurants:
There are many restaurants nearby in Sea Points Main Road that serve up something for every palette. If you are in the mood for something a bit lighter, there are also great cafes serving light meals.
Fresnaye is a few kilometres from the CBD, 40 minutes from Cape Town International Airport
